There is no such thing as right and wrong, they are both concepts we create to morally justify our actions. So when an individual or group does something that is regarded as wrong, who can safely say that it is wrong? For whatever reason in their mind they feel that they have a reason to do the things they do. One man’s wrong is another man’s right. Example: terrorism. Those being terrorised think the terrorists are wrong or sick and twisted, whereas the terrorists think that they are doing “god’s work” which then means they can sleep at night, safe in the knowledge that what they are doing is right.
Basically, in an ideal world where human beings didn’t have that horrible part of their brain that makes them pass judgement, right and wrong wouldn’t exist and people would realise that despite other peoples ideas opposing their own, it doesn’t make them wrong. Morals are a very subjective thing and in a world of 7 billion people it’s ludacris to expect the entire world to share one set of morals. Now i’m not defending terrorism of course, but if you think about it they probably feel just as terrorised by our soldiers. Both sides (the western world and the Taliban or Al Queada or whoever the fuck we’re fighting now) are doing the exact same thing, killing each other in order to “defend” their beliefs and feeling morally justified in doing so because what they’re both doing, as far as they’re both concerned, is right.
Music is never “background music”. If music is playing, it has my full attention. Even at times where it really shouldn’t be…like driving…
